Day 1

Reporting Leh. (1800m)

Today you reach Leh, capital city of Ladakh region. This is a day for acclimatization. Acclimatization in Leh is a must to be accustomed with the high altitude and low Oxygen level. If you are physically fit and not suffering from any ailment, your body will acclimatize easily in a day, before Chadar trek. This acclimatization is very crucial
Also sufficient time would be given for visiting market for shopping once we are done with Orientation & Briefing of the Trek
Day 2

Leh – Chilling – Tilat do (Drive/3-4 hrs & Trek/1 hr)

Early morning you wake up, perform some physical free hand exercise in your room and freshen up. Next you have your breakfast. After breakfast we start our journey for the long waited Chadar trek. Today we need to go to Tilat do which will be the actual starting point of the Chadar trek. We take a beautiful drive on Ladakhi roads to reach Tilat DO via Nimoo. Nimoo is the confluence of Indus and Zanskar river. Culturally and Geopolitically  both these mighty rivers are extremely important to the vast region of Asia. From Nimoo we bid Goodbye to Indus follow the trail of Zanskar. Once you reach Tilat Do, you cross the Zanskar and reach the other side, which is the first camping site of your Cadar Trek. We camp here for the night
Day 3

Tilat Do – Gyalpo (Trek 9-10 km. / 4-5 hours)

With the rising sun we start our day early. Once you freshen up, rejuvinate your body with a cup of energising cup of tea made by our expert guide and ever helpful porter. Have your braekfast and set your foot on the Icy sheet of Zanskar to start the Chadar trek. Today we will cover 10-12 km or less as per the fitness level of the entire group and establish a team dynamics which is very essential for this frozen river trek. Our primary objective will be to reach Gyalpo by the end of the day but if needed we will set our tent earlier in case of any emergency or maintain the group dynamics. This practise will be followed all through the event and we will keep our itinerary flexible. Overnight stay at Gyalpo or earlier as needed.
Day 4

Gyalpo – Tibb Cave (Trek 10-11 km. / 5-6 hours)

Today, our destination is Tibb cave. We start our journey after having a nutritious breakfast and enter the deep georges of Zanskar Canyon. WIth the high rising cliffs blocking the sunlight from entering into the canyon, this portion of the Chadar trek has very good thick ice cover and provide great ice trekking experience. The Tibb cave is a huge cave in the gorge and provides natural shelter to the local people when they travel through the frozen Zanskar. We set  our tent and camp here for tonight. The silent night, Chilly wind, superlative starry sky, deep canyon and the sound of water flowing beneath the ‘Chadar’ will create an unforgettable, lifetime memory for you
Day 5

Tibb Cave – Nyerak – Tibb Cabe (Trek 15-17 km. / 9 hours)

Overnight in trekking tents. rise early, have a hot, smoky cup of tea with your breakfast. Start your journey on the Chadar Trek again with fellow trekkers under the expert guidance of Trip Hippie guide. Today our destination is Nyrek village. The famous image of the frozen waterfall that appears in google result whenever you do a’ Chadar Trek’ search will be waiting for you en-route today. You may not believe but during summer this frozen waterfall turns into a gushing one with irresistible force that mark the end point of Zanskar rafting trail. We pass that immovable , enormous, frozen mass of water and reach Nyrek. From Nyerak we will start our backward journey. Though we will be returning by the same route, a lot of the trail would have changed as the river changes by the hour during the season depending on the temperature and sunlight. We come back to Tibb Cave and camp for the night.
Day 6

Tibb Cave – Gyalpo (Trek 10-11 km. / 5-6 hours)

This is the penultimate day of our Ladakh Chadar trek. We continue our backward journey to Gyalpo.  Upon reaching Gyalpo we set our tent on the ground where we camped earlier or elsewhere, depending upon the availability & suitability.
Day 7

Gyalpo–TilatDo–Leh (Trek 10-11 km. / 4 hours)

Today is the last trek day as we trek back towards Tilat Do. Here we cross the frozen Zanskar for the last time and then board our vehicles to drive back to Leh. Once in Leh, we check into our hotel and have a relaxing hot water bath and relive the memories of this wonderful trek. Overnight in the hotel. Today being the last day of our Chadar Trek, we set foot on this magnanimous ice cover, which has been your home for last few days, for the last time. We start our journey to Tilat Do and board the vehicle waiting there to take us back to Leh. Upon reaching Leh our tour ends.
The glorious Chadar trek, Frozen river trek, Zanskar river trek whatever you call it, will always be with you for the rest of your life.
